Quality maths teaching and learning is part of the daily timetable of every class at Harmans Water Primary School. HWPS maths lessons are primarily based on the new primary framework, with teachers finding ways of integrating maths into their teaching of other subjects such as science, geography and history whenever possible. Maths teaching is supported by a wide range of apparatus and resources, including a large number of software packages in classroom and ICT suites. We teach maths in mixed ability classes and promote the sharing of ideas and feedback between children through constructive conversations (we like to talk about maths a lot!).
